HOLY WEEK SILENT RETREAT

Monday, April 6-Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Using the poignant Stations of the Cross as the framework for reflection, this silent retreat will examine the place where the struggles of our lives intersect with the struggles of the Way of the Cross. Christ knew his pain and suffering would be redeemed by God, often times we aren't sure the same is true for us. Yet, all suffering finds its redemption in Christ's Suffering, this is the lesson of Holy Week.

The desert silence and the liturgy of the monastery provide an environment where the space between us and God becomes thinner. Come to the desert to think on pain and suffering. Come to the desert to prepare your heart and mine for the events of Holy Week.

(Please note: This retreat is conducted Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week, It is intentionally designed to give participants the opportunity to retreat during Holy Week, without missing their own parish's observances of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Plan to arrive for noon Mass and lunch on Monday. Our first official gathering will begin in the Lodge just after lunch. We will conclude on Wednesday with a closing and benediction following lunch.)
